PipeWerx 3" downpipe and sports cat.. Feedback and help?

Hi everyone!!

I have a stage 1 Leon Cupra K1 and am looking at going stage2 but with only buying the downpipe and sports cat as I like the sound of the standard exhaust anyway.

I know they all do the same thing but I want the best one quality and performance wise.

When I had my mk1 LCR I heard great things about pipewerx so I have got s price from them for the 3" downpipe into a 200cel.

What does everyone think of them? Any got one on there mk2? Think anyone else is better? Any help will be great

I have a Pipewerx DP on a Mk2 Octavia VRS - no issues with it at all while it was attached to the standard cat-back (or now that I have mated it with a Piper cat-back just to hear the burble)  

Edit: I did have to use a bit of force to bend the pegs out another 10mm to get it to fit in the support but that was all

I can only echo Muckipups comments, a lot of Octavia owners run pipewerx dp's or full systems without issue.  They did used to be very competitively priced but since becoming VAT registered their prices have gone up substantially, despite that they are still on a par or cheaper than the likes of Blue Flame of Milltek.  One good feature besides the 3" diameter is they are made with a reducer pipe fitted to match up to the OE system.

I really hope to hear some good things about them. The price is great compared to the same thing with milltek.

pipewerx is walking distance from my house, so yes have the 3 inch downpipe with sports cat and getting the tbe on in Dec.

Jeff is a top bloke knows his stuff having run Dubsport for all those years.

It is great, i could feel the difference when it went on and sounds fantastic, although i cant compare against milltek/blueflame/bcs etc but my money would be on either pipewerx or nige bcs off here

I didn't dyno with the downpipe only as an addition but felt there were some gains although nothing mind blowing on its own. The benefit is when going beyond Stage 1 when gas flow (air intake or exhaust) start becoming important. I don't think the cat-back made much if any difference - just sounded nice.

I had a pipewerx dp and cat mated to my standard cat back on my ed30, I was stage 2 bluefie at the time and rolling roaded 318bhp at awesome. Sounded well too, a bit raspier than standard. I later went for a blueflame tbe and if I could go back I wouldn't have bothered , I prefered it with just the pipewerx and standard cat back

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. think am gonna go ahead with it. I have been given a price of just shy of £500 so compared to the milltek its £150 odd cheaper.. winner.

With a slightly larger diameter pipe and no build quality issues I think you have made the right choice.  Personally, I have gone for a Milltek, but thats purely because I have picked up a second hand one for stooopid money.

I would defo buy a second hand one but I know companies and funny with warranty when it's second hand. I spoke to milltek as they are only down road from me and a very helpful guy told
Me that when it changes car it void warranty on the exhaust.

Think gonna sti k with my choice and hope for best :) now got to decide .. Custom code or p-torque for the stage2 map :s

I hear what your saying re: warranty etc, but tbh there isn't much to go wrong, my mechanic is a competent welder and if the for any reason the cat fails (never heard of that on a milly) I will convert it to a decat.   

I really couldn't say no to it as it's only covered 7k and I got it for £215 posted -



Based on my bargain hunts the total cost for stage 1 then on to stage 2 has set me back under 800 quid, that includes stage 1 software, then the tweak to stage 2, an Evoms CAI with replacement engine cover and the Milltek DP.

that is some defo bargain hunts!!!

I had a LCR and was always doing things on cheap.. decided to make sure I got the best this time around (depending on some peoples opinions) I paid £415 for ITG (fitted) and £300 for my stage one map. £300 eibachs (fitted) on the way. £500 posted for pipewerx Dp to sports cat and then looking at £375 for phase two custom code map or £325 for p-torque map.

+ £100 to fit my Dp aswel..

So with that in mind.. you have done amazing lol

Thats a huge price for stage 2 software, most tuners will upgrade there stage 1 for around a 100 quid.........or is that another bargain I found! 

To be fair, if you have got all the bits new then the prices are about right, both the intake and DP are used which is why they were cheaper.

Also bear in mind that some people have had a CEL thrown due to the rear o2 sensor seing things out of specification even though it is harmless and means very little. A lot of software companies map out the rear O2 sensor. I had the CEL coming on and off for months before I moved to Revo (who map it out by default).
