Hello friends, I need help. I have VW Caddy Maxi 2009 /same as golf mk5/, after retrofitting cruise control and MFSW , horn stop working and the buttons of SW Not working. I change my control module from mid line to highline /from 1K0-953-549-CQ to 1K0-953-549-CF /. From Ross-Tech website I saw that my Slip Ring is Type 2. I think, I did everything right, but only cruise control working, no buttons and no horn.
Parts I use.
1Q0 419 091 KUSZ – Steering Wheel / 17.11.2007 /
1K0 971 584 N – airbag harness / original harness from my not MFSW is same without N /
2k0 880 201 L 10QB -  Airbag from my original SW
1k0 959 538 F – MFSW buttons
1P0 959 542 – MFSW control unit
1K0 953 549 CF – Control module
1K0 953 513 G – Cruise control stalk
Wipers stalk I didn’t change, it is with trip button.

I thought that My SLIP RING NOT working, after I put my old airbag harness from non MFSW and recoding the Control Module,  horn start working and cruise control, too. So my SLIPRING is OK.

So what is wrong , where is my mistake? I want my MFSW to work. I this to change airbag harness, please suggest model.

Can someone do mine for me?

I have a 2005 Golf GTI Mk5.

Cash up for grabs obviously.

My DIY skills are useless.  :fighting2:

I'm based in Farnham, Surrey or Aldershot, Hampshire.

Do you know if you have the extra wire fitted?

I just updated my stalk to cruise control and updated the steering wheel control module to the CH version (new one off ebay). I have fitted an MFSW now but not coded yet. Now when I start up the right hand indicator goes all the time and using the stalk makes no difference?

I need to do the power steering reset as Ive lost this now too? My car is a 55 tdi 4motion - I wonder if I need to get a different slip ring? I'll check the part number. Bit dangerous to drive with indicators turning right all the time!

Parts I have:
- Cruise Control Indicator Stalk Arm OEM 1K0 953 513 F (wrong one?) (old one 1K0 953 513)
- slip ring 1K0 959 653 C (should ok with steering wheel module?)
- new steering wheel control module 1K0 953 549 CH off ebay (should work with my slip ring)

I need to wire in the extra wire to the ecu for CC - its only half done

Ive put the old stalk back on for now and its sorted the indicator issue...

did you fix this yet? i have similar problems on my 2005 tdi 2.0 - I need to get VCDS on it I think. I have CH module not not CF like yours and a midline display. I dont have power steering either right now since I changed the module! I have found a local guy who can have a look - he is about £60 an hour but can prob do lots in one hour... I hope I dont need a different module.
