Rattling noise on idle

So I have a rattling noise which seems to be coming from the engine bay, at first I thought it was maybe the engine cover but turns out it's not. It's not always rattling but when it is, if I turn the heating on it seems to go away

Any ideas what it could be

is your car a Manual? try dipping the clutch to see if it stops

Yes it's manual. I will try this tomorrow but don't recall this making a difference.

could be the DMF, (dual mass flywheel or the clutch pressure plate or thrust bearing.

With solid engine mounts the noise from my DMF is horrendous

you say it goes away when you put the heating on?

have a look at the air con pulley.

Could it really be that serious there's no juddering when pulling away and it go's away when heating turned on

Yes it go's away when heatings on and isn't constantly rattling, where would I find the ac pulley. Near the smaller fan
