Saving Draft PM's whilst typing
« on: September 29, 2011, 07:23:09 pm »
Hi Chaps

Is there possibly a facility whereby if say somebody was for example replying to a lengthy PM with another lengthy PM that it would "autosave" whilst typing....

As you can probably guess I've just closed down the wrong window after 45 minutes of typing!!!

So I've just recovered the laptop from the Garden and am looking for a Glazier to fix the window...

I'm guessing that these sort of features use up a lot of resources but if its possible -  :happy2:

One effective workaround would be to write your reply in TextEdit (if you're on a Mac) or whatever the Windows equivalent is. and then sling it into the forum's post box when it's ready.

I think TextEdit autosaves in Mac OS 10.7 aka Lion. I'm on 10.6.8.

HTH  :happy2:

I know i am stating the obvious, but when i am writing lots, especially in work with their 1950;s system, i, Highlight then control and C after every paragraph. Not ideal but it saves calling the glaziers.  :signLOL:

+1 to the above.

I've either type into Notepad, and copy and paste across if on the laptop, or select all and copy if on the piephone.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Yeh it was one of those ones where somebody asked me a dozen questions and I was replying within their message that I quoted if you get my meaning......

.
Possibly a different issue but I find that this forum randomly sometimes (quite often) fails to deliver a post from its Preview page, so I tend to Command+C (Mac) to the OS Pasteboard before hitting that 'Post' button. Autosave might help that.
