Hi All

Sorry for the newbie questions, but my handbook is in German and dont know anyone else with a Golf!

just a few questions about how stuff works,

if i have auto lights does that mean i have auto wipers? cant find the setting they should be on. not a biggie but if its there.....

im having problems with the cruise control (factory fitted). some times it works and most of the time not. i flick the switch to on, but the green light doesnt appear. is this a common fault?

Issue with the auto headlights staying on, even tho its bright and sunny, but i read the post and seems im not alone in that one

oh and the auto/ econ settings on the climate control. does econ turn the AC off even if the temp is low? dont want to have the AC on all the time

Lots of these could be resolved by reading your manual! If you don't have one, I'd recommend you get one from the dealers.

If you want auto wipers on, you have to put the stalk into the autowipers position. This is one up. Two up is continuous wipe and three up is fast continuous wipe.

Cruise control - switch on and then press and hold either the + or - button, then use them to set the speed. If it doesn't work, it will need replacing.

Auto lights come on in the dark, at speeds above 80mph and if in direct sunlight (an antidazzle "feature").

ECON - economy mode. Turns off the aircon.

Thanks for that! My handbook as i mentioned above is in German. Hunting for one in english. Is there an online manual available? there was one available on the net for my last two cars!
