my mk2 golf 20vt
« on: October 05, 2011, 10:15:23 pm »
well, after alittle persuasion from Tfsi_mike i thought id post my mk2 up.

well, 3 years ago i got the mk2 as a 2.9vr6 after getting rid of my 20vt polo. after a few months i then decided to have  the 225 bam lump installed into her running off emerald management....

heres the current spec:

1988 mk2 golf gti 16v in jade green
big bumpers, sill trims and g60 arches
smoothed rear panel and door rub strips
colour coded mirrors and rear spoiler

g60 brakes ( ebc red stuff pads and ebc 280mm drilled and grooved discs )
mk4 golf rear calipers
goodridge braided hoses all round
fully polybushed
weitec coilovers
BBS Rm 7.5 and 8s, or BBS Rs's 16 by 7.5s (soon to be widened to 9s all round)

225 BAM 20vt (on 19k miles at time of coversion)
emerald ecu with switchable maps and shift light. ( made 278bhp on amd's rollers)
shallow sump
forge re-circ
forge tip
custom fmic
jetex 1 box stainless exhaust

momo team 280 steering wheel
edition 1 electric recaro interior
sony bluetooth headunit
sony speakers
toad cat alarm

think thats about it.... heres somepics

a few with mikes leon cupra :)

cheers for looking. currently having a full chassis rebuild and a semi smoothed engine bay with a top fill bmw rad, and all boost pipes in crackle black...with a custom stainless  TIP also in crackle black :) will update as and when :)

yeah they are abit to dark, but seen as its my daily im not really willing to spend any money on it lol. the bbs arnt even on it anymore as there now on the golf.. rocking std gti wheels now. only thing im gonna do to polo is get the rear bumper repaired as some arse drove into in and cracked it, and get the front bumper resprayed as it now has a scratch on it that cant be polished out :(... main efforts on the golf ;)

Here here! Looks a quality example mate, what sort of quarter mile times would you be looking at with the 20v lump?
Fair play to your daily being on it's arse too, dedication! :happy2:

Love 20vt mk2's. sometimes i wish i spent the money on my mk2 rather than by the MK5.
