Hello im a new member to the site Iv got an 06 plate mk5 gti 5 door manual gearbox and engine is standard. I have owned the car for around six month with no probs. When i was using the car the other day a warning light came on, Iv refered to the manual to see what the symbol means and its exhaust gas warning lamp.This light stayed on for a couple of short trips then when I was dropping the car off to my mate who is a mechanic at fords it went off. He has put a code reader on the car and the following code has shown up P0642. My mate done a little research and said it means Ref Voltage Circuit fault. Which he thinks it maybe a sensor fault or somthing more serious like a fault on the ecu.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
