Comparison between a stock ed30 and mine. Pretty similar outputs across the range. Where the torque /bhp crosses over, mine has about 5bhp/lbft more.

That is mega similar, and also proves that power isnt everything, as yours would muller a stock ed30.  The joys of weighing 300kg less

Pretty similar on a roll from 80mph up to 120mph - especially if the "heavy silver Pirelli" is going downhill to give it a weight advantage :innocent:

on the flat it does win against a "heavy silver Pirelli" and pulls on it even over 100mph   :popcornsoda: :popcornsoda:  *hides behind seat from Greeners*

I thought you said you were pulling on a stage 2 Cupra?  What power is the pirelli running? Id have thought you would have nailed a stock pirelli

The run against the STAGE 2 Cupra was a low speed roll start from 20mph to around 90mph. Easy win with the weight advantage.

The run against the STOCK Pirelli was starting at 80+mph up to 120mph - different power band and weight isn't as much of a factor.  :happy2:

Since when have Ed30/Pirelli's weighed nearly 1500kgs?!?!?   Unless of course John has got the Polo down to 1050kgs..?

Mine is 1150kg at the moment, but that is about 1/4 ton lighter than a 5dr DSG ED30/Pirelli. Soon should be lighter though!

My ED30 weighed in at 1356kgs (on the nose) when weighed on corner scales @ the 30-130 day in 2009 and 2011. That was with 1/4 of a tank of motion lotion and the usual odds and sods in the car.
Be interesting to see what the Polo weighs on the same scales John.. Getting close now..

What route are you taking by the way? If you come down the A17 you can meet up with our convoy  :happy2: There will be a Stage 2+ manual S3 you can give chase to as well..  :driver:

Not even thought about a route yet. I'll have my plate full just keeping up with the two cars I'm coming down with!!

Turbo, intercooler and maps should be sorted by then (fingers crossed), so a little more top end is always welcome. :jumping:

1356kg in a 3dr DSG is about right as the unladen official weight for a 3dr dsg is 1376kg with a 90% full tank. A 5dr is 25 or 30kg heavier iirc.

Little update...

It's looking like the power mods are hitting the torque limiter of the DSG, so I'm back to needing at least a torque de-limit, before I get some more urge from the car.

The wmi must be working as I used over half a bottle of it on the round trip to JKM.

Been out today, even though it was damp the car still managed a 1/4 mile in 14.1 at 103.5mph and that was off a 5.8 second 0-60 as grip was at a premium. Hopefully I'll be able to get to the pod or York soon. :driver:

Whats making you say that?  iirc, it shows up in VCDS if it hits a limiter.  What is REVOs take on this, can they not bypass it?

Kev@ Jabba said that my DSG had showed 3 flashes on its ECU when he was given the car so i think shark had fiddled with the torque limiter somehow, like they did on DomTs ed30 when his DSG was limiting torque.

I've spoken to Carl at Revo and he said do a DSG reset and re-calibration. Not had chance to do it yet, but I want to put the car on Statller's dyno first to see what is happening.

I may give Shark a call if my map is being limited by the DSG limiter. Maybe they can lift the limiter for me?

When you look at my JKM dyno the torque rises smoothly to 2600rpm and swiftly tops out and then wavers until it gets to 4900rpm when it goes smooth again as it tails off. Just seems strange that the torque chops off at that level?
