Looking really good John, did the fitting go well then was it pretty straight forward? When you getting a tweaked custom map then?

Yep all pretty straight forward.

Live logged the intake temps and the water meth is really doing the business. 30oC pre-throttle valve temps and yet when the wmi is on the manifold intake temps drop below 19oC from the same as the throttle valve temps. Not sure I even need the Pace i/c and rad!  :surprised:

Also the boost is running okay at 0.1bar over requested, so no way out over-boosting.

Could do with a DSG map though to make things just how I want.

Golf R gone.

Nice work Hurdy, you should be working for VW advertising :congrats: Your making me want to buy a Polo GTI  I assume the bigger turbo spools as well as the original due to the compressor helping out, so theres no negatives there? Do you know where's the power limit on stock injectors? Any negative points yet found on the car?

Yes they are, but I'll get Steve Jr to bring it as it is his box I'm using.

JMP - no negatives on the conversion, just need a remap for the DSG box to hold it in gear. :happy2:

Yes they are Mike, but only for your 30-130 run. After that they are then removed ready for the next car. I wouldn't mind going for a few 0-XXX runs afterwards..

Well the turbo is on and up and running.

Still running Revo stage 2 software at the moment and I believe with full mapping the turbo would free up more power.

I still think the DSG is restricting it in some way but the car is most definitely faster. 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds and the 100mph dash is now dispatched in 12.3 seconds. A quarter mile dash with a kink in it and the last stretch uphill ( as was the 0-100) is running at 13.6 at 104.7mph

Get to pick mine up tomorrow.  I hear 1st and 2nd are a nightmare for traction at the moment.  Wider stickier tyres for me i think.

Ill let you know how t goes, SteveP seemed impressed.   :popcornsoda:

The tyres help a lot, but they can only do so much and if provoked can still overpower the tyres.

1/4 mile should be fun then eh!

Small update....

The Pace intercooler and radiator have gone on (arrived a day too late to be fitted at the same time as the Turbo  :sad1:). Not quite an exact fit as some re-routing of wiring had to be done, the ambient air temp sensor bracket had to be re-adapted as it interfered with the front mounted intercooler and the bottom right hand i/c pipe didn't quite allow enough room against the fan panel for the hosing to go back on, but all-in-all the fitting went well to say they hadn't physically seen the Polo before and went with the vRS format that Janner_Sy has. I've yet to do any logging as I only got the car back at 8.35pm last night and have been on the night shift too. I do have pics and will post up when I've fully woken up!

Bloomin pauper band won't let me upload pics.  :sad1:

Got the car ready for the 30-130 day. Extinguisher and stickers are on ( at least 20bhp worth ). Fingers crossed that the weather is ok.

Apart from the weather it was a brilliant day. Saw a few peeps I knew - jim at JKM, DanGB, Rich ( used to own a Pirelli but now has a TTRS ), Luca in his ultra fast Fiesta and Lister of smeg! In his Civic.

Went down with Steve Jr and Craig from Statllers.

My targets for the day were 25-30 seconds for the 30-130mph run and over 140mph for the top speed run.

I actually beat 25 seconds at 24.04 seconds and the top speed was 142.9, so mission achieved.

Interestingly my times and speeds were slower on the high octane map than setting B, so again I learnt something there too.

Next year if I still have the same car the targets will be to get under 20 seconds and over 150 mph :innocent:

Bloody hell Mate, your Baby Gti just gets better and better. Reading this thread is great but I always leave it thinking about buying a Polo.

Have you tracked it much?

What are your plans this year?

I guess we are doing a forum Nurburg trip (I hope so anyway), but it would be great if we all sort a few more forum trackdays this year?

I need the practice  :ashamed:
