Will do :happy2:

Currently learning a few extra bits to make for better fitting including a custom stainless pipe for the injector mount. Still not completed the install due to JoesGTI and Tom turning up and a funeral. Not worried though as I'll be back there tomorrow to have the install completed.

John, where are you siting the meth in relation to the throttle body?

John, where are you siting the meth in relation to the throttle body?

It is the pipe just before the throttle body. The pipe is a very soft 90 degree pipe and has a different diameter inlet to outlet and is really too soft to support the injector without loads of internal and external washers and nuts. This is the pipe that I'm having modified to have a custom stainless pipe section, specifically to hold the injector. It will have a flat section welded onto it and and be drilled through and tapped with a BSP thread so that the injector has no internal nuts or screws holding it in place that could come loose and get sucked into the manifold. I've heard that this is not the ideal location from one other source due to the remote possibility of the throttle valve getting damaged over time, but this was by using impure methanol and the location is the best point for maximum benefit from cooling and power. Approximately 8-10" from the valve itself.

Oh and here is a quick photo of the rear install. The pump is gravity fed from the bottle and so has to have it's intake point below the bottle bottom. Luckily on the Polo the boot section is very deep and allows for this. Full credit to Statllers as they made a really neat job of the install and pipework.   :happy2:

John, alot of the 1.8T guys with WMI fit a spacer plate between the throttle body and inlet mani to fit the injector nozzle. There has been a good few cases of guys killing throttle bodys due to meth ingress...

Edit: you can see the spacer in this pic..

Cheers for the pics Damien.  :happy2:

The 1.4 is a bit back to front compared with the 2.0TFSI. The throttle vales is up against the bulkead and space is very tight there. The throttle valve inlet has a different lead into it too which doesn't lend itself to fitting a spacer. This is why we decided on the stainless insert. It does the same as the spacer, but is incorporated into the silicone pipework to give the injector thread something to locate into, rather than having internal nuts and washers that may blow out or come loose and get sucked into the inlet.

Awaiting parts to finish. Steve's mad busy tomorrow and I'm at the Autosport show on Saturday, so it will be Monday at the earliest before I get chance to have it finished now.  :sad1:
