I may give Shark a call if my map is being limited by the DSG limiter. Maybe they can lift the limiter for me?

They can lift your boost as well :grin:  


When you look at my JKM dyno the torque rises smoothly to 2600rpm and swiftly tops out and then wavers until it gets to 4900rpm when it goes smooth again as it tails off. Just seems strange that the torque chops off at that level? :confused:

Looks like it could be that way, but the power curve looks perfect, and the torque is calculated from that.  Id have expected to see a flat spot in the power as well ifg it was being limited.  Also would the power not have shot upwards when the torque dropped off as its no longer on the limiter. 

Id have expected logs would show if its been limited.  How does the car limit the torque, is it through fuel or timing?  Both of these would be very noticable when logged.

Look at the power curve again, as the torque limit is hit the angle of power increase gets a little shallower.

I've not done any WMI timing logs yet, but if the weather is okay I will be doing some tomorrow.

As in, if you make more or hold torque better yu will get more power!!

It is :happy2: lbft=(Hp x 5252)/rpm

torque is a derivative of power.  More power = more torque and vice versa.

The power curve looks very linear and progressive, that result is a plateau of torque.    If there was more torque in the midrange there would be a large hump in the power and not so linear.

My old shark graph shows the hump.



The linear power curve in this stock graph shows that the torque result flat lines

i looked at yours before Dom, it is similar except yours continues to climb, albeit very gradually up until 4700rpm whereby it drops.

Johns peaks at 2800rpm and drops from there on.  I do hope its not torque limiting.  Were going to have some pretty big issues with our hybrids if it is!!

Couple of mini updates.

The Federal 595RS-R's are on the car and are a positive benefit for grip and handling over the normal road tyres and relatively cheap at £110 a corner.

Also got a Gulfstream footrest pedal, big thanks to Gulf as he had 9N3 Polo footrests and the 6R footrest is an exact match. :happy2: pics to follow.

So, out of those "competitors" to the Polo GTI which ones can you get a 5dr in with an auto (DSG) option..............errrr.............none. :grin:

£24k+ for a Sh!troen!! :surprised: :sick:

Stock these do the following....

1-Clio RS200 - £16,800 for cup with no options or air con - 0-60 in 7.3 and 0-100 in 18.2
2-Mini Cooper S Works - £22,390 for a boggo spec - 0-60 in 7.1 and 0-100 in 17.2
3-DS3Racing - £24,300 std spec - 0-60 in 7.3 and 0-100 in 17.5
4-Polo GTI - £19,410 for a base 5dr - 0-60 in 7.1 and 0-100 in 18.9
5-Corsa VXR  -  £18,625 for a base spec - 0-60 in 7.5 and 0-100 in 19.5!!

Mine with the Federals in place 0-60 in 5.0 and 0-100 in 12.9.............admittedly most of the others would be faster with extra money spent on them too.
A mapped Polo GTI definitely isn't boring :wink: :evilgrin:

Did you every time yours when stock John? 18.9 secs seems a bit slow to me. Same with the VXR, I have seen acceleration tests which have been a lot quicker than that (6.8 and 16.9).
