Just looking at that guys time slip.   http://www.dragtimes.com/2009-Seat-Ibiza-Specs-21045.html  His 60ft time is phenominal:2.09 Seconds!!!

That's 0.7 Seconds faster than I could manage the other day.  If I could make up that launch alone id be topping that leaderboard.  Plus my terminals were higher despite loss of traction in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and double gear changes due to the dsg auto shifting.  We should top this board I think if everything goes right and conditions are good.

That was with the higher boost map with the dsg issues on the stock air box, so not sure of the power output.  It was more than I have at the moment though.  I'm confident we can do it,or ill get skint trying lol

I managed several 60ft runs on my 0-60mph runs and they were all 2.2 or 2.3 seconds. May get better traction at the Pod or York. :driver:

This is the problem i guess.  Even with those 60ft times which are good, your still 0.2 of a second away from his, so thats got to be gained up the strip.

Its achievable i think with your current setup.  If you match his 60ft i think you would muller his time.

There are a few Rwyb days over the next few weeks and I'm going to try and get to both the Pod and York. :happy2:

How do you rate the Federals John compared to the R888s now youve had a chance to put some miles on them, im in need of some track tyres now and there a pretty good saving over the r888s.

Sy - this is my best 60 ft time (I am on the right CC1507) - but blew the run. Thought that 1.58 was pretty good

All about getting it all to come together  :signLOL:

If i managed that time id be into the 12s lol, thats over a second faster than mine.  To be fair thats with really really worn 205 wide conti 2 tyres with circa 260-270 pushing through them

The Federals are much better than any normal road tyre in the dry or damp. In the wet they are good, but not as good as normal road tyres. They aren't as grippy as R888's but they have a better wear rate and don't sound like a tractor on the road. I'd say about 90% of the grip of R888's, but they are more stable for longer when used heavily and from what I have heard they will last much longer.

Cheers Mate kinda similar to R1R's then :happy2:

So are you happy you went with the hybrid option or has it not quite delivered on the power you were expecting, i honestly carnt work out wether its made a noticable difference to yours or Sy's car. Is there more available from the turbo once the mapping is there? Do you think you'll reach the 300hp mark from it?

Mines made a big difference and is still running abot.0.5Bar less boost than this turbo can rptake.  Can't see 300hp tbh but 270-280hp is achievable once the dsg issues are cured as were bouncing off the limiters in the gearbox.

So is it clutch issues or the gearbox map itself that need altering or both? Has the company from SCN, i think INA, come up with a clutch pack yet?

What about with WMI wont that be worth 20hp or so on top of the hybrid?

It is the torque limiting in the OEM DSG software that is limiting performance at the moment. I'm running over 230bhp on a Dyno Dynamics dyno without the WMI and on setting B on a non hybrid stage 2 Revo map, so I'm nowhere near optimised at the moment. WMI will give around 12-14bhp over what I'm running now and then an optimised map should give another 20-30bhp on top of that - on dyno Dynamics rollers. So that should give around 262-274 bhp and similar torque on a DDD once the set-up is optimised. There are other mods to do which may give a little more, but tbh I don't think my tyres would handle it. The sweet spot for the chassis is probably what the car will be when optimised and even then I'd like an LSD, engine mounts and wider tyres! :driver:

The car does 0-60 in 4.9 seconds as she is now, so she is plenty quick off the line and around the bends the car is much more nimble than my ed30 was. I weighed the car this week and even with all the parts onboard and 1/4 of a tank of fuel it only weighs 1160 kg. That is a good 200+ kg lighter than a DSG Ed30.

Went to the Fast show on Sunday. First outing for the car down the strip. Took it down in full road trim including spare and 2/3 rds of a tank of fuel. Only had chance for a couple of runs and fluffed them both :ashamed:

1st run I over estimated the grip that should have been available and wheelspun through the first three gears, geared up to fourth early and then the DSG kicked straight back down to third -result = poo run.

2nd run the launch was more careful but still had too much wheelspin, geared up through to fourth, planted the go fast pedal and.........kicked down to third again!!! Grrrrrr. Lost about half a second after pulling my face off the windscreen and ended up with a slow 13.93@102.34mph.

Definitely a low 13 second run in there and my terminals were down by 3-4mph, but not bad considering the run itself and being in full road trim.
