You'll know i you hit the limiters John, its like hitting a brick wall!!! I took a guy out this afternoon @ APR to show him the map with the medium boost map and hit the limiters everytime, very very notable and not just a little bit of torque lopping.

I let him have a spin in mine with the 251Hp map where the boost comes in slower(no limp mode) and he seemed pretty impressed.  Hes now stage 1.

Yeah, It just seems to stop accellerating immediately and then the speed just crawls up :sad1:

I'm very impressed with the performance you've been able to comfortably squeeze out of it John, superb. The recorded stats look good for a tuned Golf GTI, never mind a Polo GTI  :pomppomp:

I think the 6R GTI has taken the Polo to a new level. Looks fantastically clean at the meet pics
Boring question, are you hitting anywhere near the suggested fuel consumption figures and is it noticeably cheaper to run than your previous fleet, especially the MK5?

Cheers

The fuel consumption is much better than the ED30. I managed a lifetime average of 18.7 mpg in that and the Polo GTI is currently averaging 31 mpg even with my heavy right foot and on a run gets close to 50 mpg. :happy2:

:jumping: Wow thats awesome fuel economy John.

These baby Gti's are getting more and more and more appealing………..and your thread isn't helping me at all.  :ashamed:

I think it is inevitable that I will have one early next year

I second Hurdy's fuel consumption of 31mpg witha stock Polo GTI. Hurdy, is that fuel consumption for your tuned Polo or before while the car was still stock ?

That is as it stands now. As stock it was 33mpg average.

Been a bit lax in keeping this thread up to date :ashamed:

Went to Elsecar mega meet and cleaned the car and then finished with the DA polisher followed by a good waxing and the result was this.....

Nice pics there John, Car looks great  :happy2: Didn't manage to make it there this year.

How do you find the Polo compared to the Edition 30, now that you've had it a while?
Bye Bye Edition 30.

The Polo is great. Nowhere near as fast as the Golf after 90mph, but otherwise it could hold it's own. On a track I'd say there wouldn't be much in it too. I also prefer the exterior styling.

Did u ever make a comparison between stock and mapped for a normal driving ? (cruising at 50-70mph). Some say at these speeds the mapped car's mpg should be better !

I never had the chance as the car was mapped very soon after I bought it. For the performance of the car the fuel consumption is very good indeed.
