if you have an RNS510 with voice control then you will want it to work.

Tbh. i don't think it is down to the coding, so as you suggested they won't lose anything by trying it

the last few posts on problems with cruise retrofits on this forum all had AQ controllers

Latest update:
Tried all the codes as shown in thread, ie: 0013142, 0002022, 0012122, 0013122, 0003022 and still no good. I've reset it to first position, 0012142.
Just a bit more info on the car, it's got DSG with paddles and highline but not MFSW and no voice control.
Car is unavailable for two weeks now so time for the boffins to think.
All help gratefully received by George and myself.
Regards,
John

If that is right Ed then the only thing to do is swap out the steering controller, maybe like the BC version with the bug on the cruise??

Weird but possible not heard it on the AQ controller.

John can you send the scan across to Ross Tech and see what they think??

Hi Darren,
I'd do it if I knew how to!
Will they accept it if I'm not the original purchaser of the cable? I thought they restricted support to new buyers only.
Give us a few clues mate and I'll give it a go.
Regards,
John

Not sure about ownership mate but as long has its a genuine cable Im sure they'll give you some advice?

You need to go into vcds and on the front screen there is an option that says debug press this and it will bring your emails up on the email just put in a breif description of the problem and either copy and paste the scan or attach/insert the text file.

Right,
Sent the log to Ross Tech and this is their response:

"The ECM and Steering Wheel Control Module are coded for cruise control.  When you scan the ECM, go into Measuring Blocks group 066 and operate the cruise control buttons.  Do any changes happen in field 4?

Just to confirm, the cruise control buttons are NOT on the steering wheel, correct? "

So, as I said earlier, the car isn't available for two weeks now so I'll wait and try this action and get back on here with the results.
Thanks for all the input so far, that's what's nice about this Forum!
Regards,
John

Is the long coding set correctly on the engine module.
My cruise control threw some faults up the other week, and to get rid of the fault code, I had to change the long coding on the engine module, and the coding on the steering wheel module also.
I live Seaham way if you need any help

Just for info, Ross Tech got back and told me that as a second buyer of the cable it's a $99 registration fee for support.
Hmmmmmmm.

Well I just read through the full thread again, and engine module fault was the same as mine, and the steering wheel fault was the same as mine, green light on dash, but not working properly.
I just finished fitting a new cruise control stalk, and all is now working fine with no error codes

they fitted 2 stalks, highly unlikely that 2 new ones would be faulty.
Also Golfman did a cruise install with the same controller and also tried 2 and both didn't work. In the end had to use a new steering controller

Picked this up again this morning and did the measuring blocks test as suggested by Ross Tech.
When the stalk switch is operated the binary code at Measuring blocks 066, field 4 responds so does that suggest that the Steering module is not responding? If that's the case then it looks like a new controller with a different part number will be required. Can anybody confirm please.
Regards.
