Cruise Control Problem

I have had cruise control stalk fitted and coded the green speedo symbol lights up in the dash but the speed does not hold and + - buttons just do nothing?Lookers VW of Teeside have checked it and changed the stalk coded it and it still does not work.They checked with VW technical department but they are now saying they need to open the ECU? Any ideas?

Lookers Teeside hav'nt got a clue. I asked them to code my sat nav so it displays on the MFD and they told me they had to run a wire from the sat nav to the instrument cluster! :stupid: so i would'nt take any notice of them to be honest.

I'm not sure if this is posting ok but here goes. Did a first scan and got the following.
Then cleared the faults and did a test run, still no good even after a scan with no faults showing.The "intermittent" at address 16 looks dodgy to my untrained eye.

The steering wheel is not coded for cruise control if you ask John to go into the steering wheel and change 0012142 to 0013142 then the faults in the engine and the steering controller will delete themselves and you will have cruise working :happy2:

Also the fault on the engine module is only there because of the fault that is in the steering module once that is sorted then the engine fault will go.

Changing the 2 to a 3  will change the mute button to a voice control control button.
when I had a mk5 mfsw in my car I had 0002022 and my cruise worked

try and check the measuring blocks to see if the stalk is ok and the engine

0 = Steering Wheel without Multifunction
1 = 3-Spoke Steering Wheel without Multifunction
2 = 3/4-Spoke Steering Wheel with Multifunction without Cruise & Voice Control
3 = 3/4-Spoke Steering Wheel with Multifunction with Cruise & Voice Control

George try it and see if it works if not then you've not lost anything?

I know it is strange but I think that part only relates to the button function.
apart from my car I have also done a cruise and paddle shift on a 2005 gti dsg. The cruise worked fine
