Probably around £1000 for the headlights but some cheap ones do go on eBay so maybe a little less. This is assuming you do it properly with washers & auto levelling. You can tint your rear lights if you know what you're doing for £10ish

Xenons,around £450 with adaptors.
Anyone with Vagcom can code them for you
Rear lights for an R32 tend to go for around £130-£160 on here.

Wouldn't you also need the washers if you have xenons fitted?  I would either leave it as it is or wait until one comes up with everything you want on it.

Im based in Ireland and our MOT system hasnt as of yet picked up on the headlight washer requirments for xenons.

£1000 seems a lot considering you can buy the complete kit for about 400. would it be that much in labour charges??

I'll keep an eye out for a set of rear lights.

thanks for your replies

1000 would be the upper end of the range but would include everything to have the lights on the car as if fitted from new. Often the £400 sets on eBay are just the units so you then need to buy the lamps, looms, washers, levellers etc, plus labour.

I'm sure there is a set in the for sale section at the moment which comes with all the wiring, I think they were listed for £450.00.

Big Al,

Can you tell me why the lights need coded?
I have recently purchased a set of xenon's and bought some looms from Kufatec, I thought this was plug and play???
I'm hoping to get them fitted this week.....

Cheers!

Des basically for the fault system to work the central electric module sends a pulse to all parts of the car when it gets a reply it says the system is fine, Xenons cannot work on a pulsed system which is why you see the xenons flicker if not coded in...once coded the central electrics will send a constant power supply to the xenon ballast(power pack) and that fires the ignitors.

Hope that throws some light on it    pardon the pun

Hi Darren,

Thanks for the explaination, that makes perfect sense.
One of my friends has VAG-Com so I'll ask him if he would mind.

Thanks again,
Des.
