Yup, hence me saying need to wait for OSX 10.7.2 and iCloud. :)

Looking forward to it later, and also to getting my iP4S to try it all out together.

Carl, have they removed references to MobileMe completely in System Prefs and replaced it all with iCloud?

I would have to look to be 100% but I don't think so as MM doesn't expire till June 2012 and there will be some who won't migrate until they absolutely have to.

For those who are running the GM of iOS 5 make sure you restore to the official release.

The GM has an expiry date of 30 Nov and after that you will start having problems.

iCloud is incorporated into 10.7.2 so you won't be able to move your MobileMe acct to iCloud unless you have a Dev acct like I do or you are running a beta version of 10.7.2

You will also get an iPhoto update for photo stream  :happy2:

Whats the GM version ?, I have sold the ipad that i had the developers iOS 5 on but i am worried the new owner wont know how to update to the official version (he knew it had the dev version on), will it be easy to go to the proper version ?

I wouldnt worry too much. I imagine once iOS5 is in the wild, there will be a patch within a few weeks. I would imagine before the 30th November expiry date.

Carl, yes, know about the extension till June. We have a family membership for MobileMe. But would still expect them to bring OSX up to date to slowly start referencing iCloud instead of MobileMe.

Shaun,

They will have to restore in iTunes by holding alt and Clicking restore once the official release is available that's all.  :happy2:

Deako,

What I mean is the OS will hold references to both until the expiration of MM. Then, prob around 10.7.5, they'll remove the references :happy2:

Just got the wife to check my MBP and both MM and ICloud are in the system prefs on the GM of 10.7.2

She clicked on MM and it said the account had been moved to iCloud  :happy2:

As i said I think it will remain there until MM expires.
