Yes, but I think it's only the downpipe that fits, after that I think the rest won't fit, so I'll have to buy it?

but that's the expensive bit sorted!

you could easily shift your milltek cat back and buy an S3 one.

Yeah the routing on the cat back will be different but like others have said the ITG can be modded and the downpipe is ok to swap over thank god   the S3 would definitely be a serious contender for my next car if and when i sell on the GTI  :notworthy:

:signLOL: the problem I have is that I don't have a standard cat back to replace on my GTi so I can sell it.  I guess I'll have to offer it in exchange for a standard 1 (to put back on my car) with a bit of cash on top.  How much extra could I charge, £200?
Its now only to confirm the twintercooler will fit

Believe i read somewhere on here or another forum that the pipes are definitely routed differently and you'd need to mod the brackets by drilling new mounting holes to make it fit but that's alot cheaper than £500+ for a new one and the hassle of selling your one too  :happy2:

Just found a link on retrofitting the twintercooler to the S3.
I assume all these twintercoolers are the same   :surprised:

Guys,

Looking to trade my stage 2+ GTi in for an S3 (58 plate)
Any idea if I can transfer any of the bits from 1 to the other like my ITG CAI, Milltek TBE or my Forge Twintercooler?
All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.   :happy2:

Best way I can think of is to put all the parts in the boot of the gti, then, (and you could get a mate to help with the lifting) park the S3 back to back with the golf, open both boots and then transfer.

....I'll get me coat  :ashamed:

:signLOL: funny thing is the milltek downpipe from the GTi its the S3, but the S3 down pipe doesn't fit the GTi

Milltek - Downpipe definitely will fit, cat back system won't.

ITG - as said you just need the hose that fits on to the turbo as it has a take off pipe for the DV return pipe.

Twintercooler - This is a funny one. You definitely need different hoses for a start and the actual twintercooler core may have different brackets on it. If I had a GTI one in stock at the moment I'd compare them for you but I don't just have the S3 kit. For the price of the hoses and messing with moving the brackets and what you could sell the GTI kit for on here I'd say you are better off selling the twintercooler and buying a new S3 one.

In the end I don't think its going to cost you that much to swap it all over  :happy2:

Thanks for the info mate  :happy2:
I may actually sell the twintercooler and not bother replacing it, I've heard the S3 intercooler is sufficient, or is that rubbish?

Well the S3 cooler is better than a GTI one as you know but I will still be fitting a Twintercooler to my S3. Maybe just sell the twintercooler now and buy a new S3 one in the spring ready for summer. Not really as much of an issue in winter!
