Not sure if it ever has been. However we cleaned it all out but it's still flashing, but only when the car is up to temperature and when I have been driving for 20 minutes or more.

What does VCDS say?
Has it damaged the Oil pump?

I can't see the pump itself being damaged. Surely if that was the case I would see the warning continuously? Or the car wouldn't feel too great?

I haven't had it checked via vag com, but one of the first times it happened a friend ran a check and no fault codes came up, or anything to do with oil or the pump etc for that matter.

Hi guys. Thought I would post this for your information.
Pulled away from a junction today and oil warning went off for
3 seconds then the engine cut out. I did try to start the engine again
but it does not start. Read the DTCs but nothing there. Going to get through
Christmas and drop the sump. Will keep you informed.

Oh dear that doesn't sound good :-/ if it has cut off I can only imagine it is a slightly more serious problem than what I had. Which just turned out to be the switch being dodgy so I just got that replaced.

I've had a chance to drop the sump and its very clean. No blockage or sludge.
Managed to trace problem to a poor connection at the clocks. Took 20 mins to find and fix the clock
Issue. Wish I had checked that first. Anyway at least I know oil pick up is good.

I put a post up about this yesterday in the Photobucket thread, hopefully this will help...

Chaps,

I dont know if this works for everyone but Ive found a workaround that works for me. Its not neat, but it works and will be useful for some of the 'How To' guides at least...

(Im using Google Chrome if that makes a difference)

- Right click the photo and click 'Open in New Tab' (When it opens in a new tab it will still show the Photobucket ransom message)
- Hold Ctrl & press F5 to refresh the page and once it refreshes you should be able to see said image
- Said image should even now show up in the post you were viewing originally (may have to refresh it)

Let me know if it works for you :happy2:
