2.0TFSI Oil Pick up pipe blocked = Low oil pressure warning
I thought I broke a 78k 2.0TFSI....  :sick:  I was happy custom mapping it from stock to stage2 power when the engine decided to cut out and give me a low oil pressure warning.  :jumping:  Panic set on for a few mins, only until I called the customer to ask him if it happend before, I was shocked   :surprised: when he said yes, just turn the ignotion on and off and it will be fine.. :happy2:



So if you have a 2.0TFSI get your oil pick up pipes checked out, it looks like they are going to be worse than the 1.8Ts in the long run.  IMO if you have 80k+ and for what it costs get it replaced.


Oil pick up fixed engine flush and new oil & filter.. = happy tuner, happy customer and a nippy little A3.

You will be shocked by how many customers who try to hide issues from me, they know if it aint 100% I wont risk mapping there car, but they seem to be willing to take the risk.


Its just blocked up with general carbon build up and engine swarf, the inside of the sump was thick with built up gunk, on the the 1.8T engine i see it worse on cars which dont have dealer service history and £4.99 5lt oil get used along with a aftermarket oil filter.

Its a feed from the oil pump to the oil in the sump of the engine, its has a corse filter to stop bits going into pump, but from what I have seen the design of the pick up pick just holds on to all the gunk.

Is this a sump off job?
if so do you need a new sump gasket ? or is it a wet gasket?
