Well personally, I think the twintake is a con. I took mine apart to clean, and the side air filter was like brand new, and the main one connected to the scoop was caked. I do think it looks a lot better though!
I've just ordered an ITG after deciding to keep my car and get the engine rebuilt , so will report back on the differences
....Just because one filter collects more debris than the other doesn't mean that there aren't performance gains as a result of having two filtered intakes.
For obvious reasons any/every intake route needs filtering to protect the engine. Before public release, Forge also tested the Twintake as a 'Singletake' by omitting the side route behind the headlight. They found significant performance gains with the Twintake over the Singletake even though that side intake does seem illogical.
The percentage splits of air volume intake between the two pipe routes may be different and may be a smaller percentage value from the side location, but the point is the
sum of the parts.
Additionally, if you think about it, more debris will be caught in the full-ahead position where it has nowhere else to go than when it gets aerodynamically pushed around the side of the car. You don't get leaves and insects stuck towards the sides of a car do you.
It's as much about performance gains, if not more, as it is about filtration. Air + Fuel = ? <-- You already know the answer.
Final choice will also factor in eye-candy in the form of what appeals to you individually. I'm a fattist: I don't fancy fat women regardless of how nice a person they are, some of you do fancy them (fortunately for them!). Choice also factors in sound: What appeals to our individual brain via something we call ears.
In the case of Twintake vs ITG, I wouldn't like to say that one is 'better' than the other - They're both very good but I have a much stronger
preference for the Forge Twintake.
