Im sure if it was an issue, Vw would of re-routed or  revised the PCV.

They did on the TSI.
i know, but we're talking TFSI  :P

Well i was asking ian, because if it was a major design flaw on the TFSI engine, then surely they would of done something on the current car being sold with the same engine in.. the Golf R..

I asking because im unsure, whether the Rev N is fitted, or Vw have done a re-design to sure this issue that people say having oily inlet valves are causing performance and Emmisions issues, which i feel it doesnt..

I don't think you can say without removing the inlet manifold Steve regarding the state of the valves.

As for the Golf R. Who knows. Essentially though they redesigned the PCV solution on the TSI but probably left as is on the R engine.

Mine did 85,000 miles (modded) with stock PCV and never had any issues.. Nor did it suffer from lack of performance either..

Probably blown up now though...  :signLOL:

But without removing the inlet manifold you have no idea of the state of the valves....

I would stick with the latest revision OEM PCV. Not keen on blanking off the Crankcase breather... but ETTO.

Does anyone know the part number for the latest revision OEM PCV?

The inlet manifold doesn't look a hard job to remove and inspect, and if neccessary clean if power loss is an issue.

Removing the inlet manifold is a it of a fanny-on but you can stick a camera in the middle of the manifold once a temp sensor has been removed and easily check cylinders 1 and 2  :happy2:

Im not sure it was a bore scope but ACR checked mine a few years ago by this method
