A Stage 2+ Ed30 costs Ave £14-15k opposed to £28K for M3 (Oakley sunglasses and fake tan a must!) and the 911's (Fancy Beetles ) are very nice, but more money again for a good un, for the majority who dont have that kind of cash i suppose a Tuned ED30 is a nice way of saying "I can keep up with you pace wise but not financially", im probably biased as i have an Ed30 and it will be Stage 2.5 next year

Someone said that from rolling start to 140mph the Ed30 2.5 would stay ahead then M3 would sail past, i disagree as he has a lot of ground to make up before the M3 hits is 155mph limiter , where on facetube () you see stage 2.5 or stage 3's hitting 175-180mph (on the german unrestricted autobahns of course!).

I think the Porkers would come past at 140mph but there wont be much in it (My mate has a C4S as his weekend car).

I think the most power/torque will be used from 30-80mph (Slip roads onto M/ways) and its would be pretty close betwen them all.

Just my opinion guys, everyone has their own :rolleye:

^^^ Very true.. Spoke to the guy on there about it a few times. It's taken some serious scalps at these events too AND it's a slow ass manual  :surprised:  :signLOL:

In this vid it says it's a stage 3 135i, I'm really not sure it is! That would eat most things a defo and eddy 2+!

It's not Stage 3, it's JB3 (piggyback chip and very popular in the States). It also has cat-less down pipes and FMIC, but that's about it..

To be fair, that vid is edited quite well on some of the runs and the full vids are no longer on there.   The RS4 and 135i do catch and pass at the end of the run, but you don't get to see that.   :signLOL:

A FBO (full bolt on) 135i would still struggle to shake off a Stage 2+ Ed30 till well over three figures though IMO..

How do you find the economy compared to the old Golf?

Pretty much identical mate tbh.. 1er is probably about 1mpg more on average (averaging about 30mpg atm). That's comparing Stage 2+ Ed30 vs 135i with just software. That's motorway mileage mixed with back road fun..

I am reading all these threads with interest.

Funny the Exige should be mentioned as I am currently putting a 20k miles 2.0T FSI out of an Ed30 Golf into my Lotus Elise 111R. With the help of a proalloy chargecooler we are going for a Stage 2+ map so 360 bhp in a 900 kg car should be fun  Probably a fair comment about the performance once you are into three figures but much of that is down to the downforce on an Exige which make it a bit of a brick at silly speeds- good for corners but not for straights.

I have upgraded the diverter valve to the revision d type, bought the RS4 fuel pressure regulating valve, upgraded the fuel pump with the autotech internals... is there anything else I have missed there?
