I dont think you can beat Yokohama parada spec II's, not quite as good as others in the wet but SERIOUSLY good in the dry, they do where fast though as the compound is quite soft.

Personally i go for grip over longevity every day of the week. Its not just about grip when hooning, but also in an emergency.

Did you know an F1 team spends more on tyres than any other single part of the car, its the only point of contact between the car and the road, so all that power and powerful brakes mean nothing if the  tyres dont grip. Its a point thats often overlooked by fast road users.

Agree totally.

I'm going for either Pilot Sport 3's (£560!!!) or Assymetric 2's, but can't decide :(

i guess there's some degree of bias with tyres and perspective...however, i want some reasonable wear and good grip...might take a look at the Toyos.

I put the PS3's on mine and they have totally transformed the car.  I can't recommend them enough.

For Ps3s on mine too great tyres, certainly didn't pay that much each for them, paid £243 fitted for the fronts

That's a good price, best I could get was £139 each fitted, and I tried about 40 places lol

I hate to admit it but it was good old quickfit, pay upfront online and book a slot and it is cheaper.

I've run T1-S, T1-R, and R888 toyos on a mix of cars, and none of them liked wet surfaces. Obviously the R888 was shocking if there was even a hint of standing water, as it had nowhere to go, but I can't say I was impressed with the T1-R or T1-S in standing water either. Good VFM tyres, but that's about it.

The cheaper toyo's are quite poor. Im surprised you think the 888's were poor on wet surfaces, most people say they are outstanding  for wet grip but terrible in standing water.

I had the R1R's on until a couple of weeks ago, which are the same compound as the 888's and they are better in the wet than any other tyre i have tried.

I can only second this, the R1R is the best of both worlds, grip like 888 in the dry and in the wet

I have heard some great things about the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetrics and I think they will be my next tyre (probably Feb 2012 time though) he hopes.....nails and general failure permitting.

I've just fitted two p zero rosso's to the front on my 18's, got them for £120 ea fitted, got them all round now and really impressed so far in both the dry and extreme wet. I had Bridgestone RE050A on beforehand and can't believe how much quieter the Pirellis are.
