New camera, new mods, new products - my Edition 30.
« on: October 22, 2011, 05:04:05 pm »
I got to clean my own car for a change today, but it really was just a very quick wash as I was keen to have a play with my new camera, and test out Wolf's Black Out on my tyres.

I've decided to keep my Golf a little longer, so I've invested in a few mods to keep me interested in it, so this week its been treated to:

- Koni FSD Dampers fitted, alongside my existing Eibach Sportline Springs (-30mm).  I also had the existing top mounts replaced.
- Laser wheel alignment and camber/castor adjustments after the suspension was fitted
- 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 3's in 225/40/18 (Awesome tyres!)
- Philips XtremeVision bulbs, until I can source some genuine VW Xenon's for it.

Next week I'm also adding a Whiteline Rear Anti Roll Bar and Audi S3 brake set up on the front (345mm), which should make it a pretty decent performer.  I may add the ITG CAI too, if funds allow, but that may wait until Spring.

Anyway, enough waffle, onto some pics :)  My new camera is a Sony NEX-C3

Random pic I took of a weathered hose attachment and a new one I found:

It was in a bit of a state tbh!

I also acquired a used Kranzle this week, which needs a bit of TLC, but is generally in great shape:

Process was:

- G101 on wheels
- Foam with Hyper Wash
- Wash with Lather
- Sealed with ReLoad

I bought some Black Out from Waxamomo, which I was keen to try after such glowing feedback on here:

and on my tyres, it looks very good indeed.  I think it needs a couple of coats to soak in evenly, but initial impression is very good indeed.

Love some of those shots.

Where did you get the work done? And let us know what you think of the tyres once they've fully bedded in.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Great pics mate.
Hope the mods improve the performance for you as know you haven't been as taken with the car as you'd hoped originally,

Few more pics from tonight...

Me again!

Having more of a play with my new camera and I must say I'm astounded by the difference between this and my Pana TZ6, particularly with taking pictures in anything but natural daylight.

All pics were taken in Auto mode

Car was washed today and topped with CQuartz ReLoad.  I have Wolf's Blackout on the tyres.

Please excuse the new chav dipped headlight bulbs :)

Quick one of my interior - I've added the VW RCD510 (excuse the crumbs!)

DSC00083 by RussZS, on Flickr

Blown away by my new camera.

Please note that the Golf does still need a proper correction detail, which I'll probably leave until next Spring now!

Thanks for looking

Russ.

Looks amazing Russ :congrats:

I especially love the bulbs and the Wolf Black Out  :notworthy:

Both are Def on my shopping list.
....is the Black out dressing a gel or liquid? Is it easy to apply? It looks alot better than the Megs tyre endurance that I have always used.

Great photos mate.  :star:
