That would be good but can't justify a grand for a track day unfortunately

I think the SWMBO would have something to say about it, lol.
As I've never been before nor tracked my car before think I'll do the forum one for a few days this year an then save up for something like this next year

Sorry to slightly hijack this thread but there are a number of contributors who sound pretty resourceful!

I'm looking to organise my first trip to the Nurburgring with a few friends in August for 2-3 days. What are the opinions towards tourists days in August?

Thanks!

Probably very busy, but most tourist days are, it can be ridiculous sometimes and i cant see it being any different in August.   Obviously though, better chance with the weather.  :happy2:

Guys, it is possible to do the Ring and Spa trip in October but not buy the "accommodation package"?

The thing that annoys me is that it only takes one d!ck to total his shed of a car or spill oil from a leaky old tugboat on a tourist day and the track can shut for a long time. On a trackday the people seem more responsible and the cars are better looked after and even the crashes that do happen are dealt with efficiently to keep the track open. For me it is worth paying the extra to do a trackday, but having said that I would still risk tourist days myself - it's the masochist in me

....I agree with Hurdy on this one. 'Private' trackdays on the full Nurburgring are far better and well worth the extra in my opinion. However, apart from now being somewhat financially restricted, I am not the masochist which friend and 'Ring roomy John Hurdy is!

Such trackdays were not on my bucket list as I don't have one, but at least I have done and thoroughly enjoyed them. Spa is my favourite though.

I'm organising the Club GTI 'Ring Trip tour for 2012 for the DTM weekend. August can be hit and miss with weather, but every month can to be honest. It can be sunny one day, and cold and foggy the next. We always have a lot of fun though.

This can and does happen on organised Track Days as well. And as you have spent potentially a lot of money, to have a complete day wasted would be devastating.

I phoned for reservation info and the Nurburgring 700 is not for me... The asking price of 1000 GBP for one trackday is much too expensive for me (actually 900 GBP because I get 100 GBP discount for not using the Euro Channel).
There are about 30 spots still available so if someone wants to go but is not sure yet you might have to decide quick.

The Spa trackdays are quite cheap (235 GBP) but the 9th of August is booked. I might so some touristfarten from the 6th to the 9th of October and than Spa on the 10th.

The 6-9th of october and the Spa on the 10Th i hope to be able to make.
I'm just booking for Inters and the ferry alone is app. 1000£  :stupid: So unless i find a sponsor i might get better value for money meeting you in October  :happy2:

Over the top mod list ;o)
