Anyone who's replaced a DV ...
« on: October 28, 2011, 07:25:14 pm »
When you've unplugged the wiring connector did oil drip out

Changed mine today and when I undid the connector a few drops of oil came out.  On the plus side when I took it apart the rev c diaphragm with 60k on it was absolutely perfect  :sad1: kindov hoping it was broken.  Still, won't have to worry about it again.

Oil out of the electrical connector? Sounds a bit dodgy to me.

Yes.  I know some oil is normal in the boost pipes etc and actually the internals seemed pretty clean.  Also changed the intercooler seal and there wasnt much in there either.  The oil in the electrical connector puzzled me though.  I guess if oil was able to get into the electrical connector precious boost could leak out too.

In any case the DV has been changed and has made naff all difference except I've lost the nice little sneeze it did when changing gear etc.

Changed my original B to the D , was also hoping for a tear but was fine. No oil though, puzzling one that.

Agree with you richwig83, did lose some of the nice noise :sad1:

Completely miss read this last night (shouldn't reply when half asleep lol), I read it as if it came out boost pipe. I never had anything out of the  elec connector.

I know what you mean about the sneeze when changing as it is nice to hear, but I had it whistling whilst accelerating aswell but now thats gone it does shift a bit more.

No oil. Only dirt when I swapped it.

Thanks but is that the thread you meant to link?  Logged performance of RS4 valve?  Probably me being thick but I can't see any reference to the DV  :ashamed:
