Changing spark plugs.....
« on: November 01, 2011, 09:01:55 pm »
Going to do this at the weekend to hopefully fix the hesitation problem under acceleration

Borrowing the correct tools from a friend and competent with cars - my query is whether or not i need a torque wrench or whether you can just do them tight but not too tight?

If i do need one, anyone around bishops stortford / essex border have one i could borrow?

VCDS cable HEX-USB+CAN. New but can do the basics including coding

No real need to use a torque wrench, just nip them up tight  :happy2:

I'm sure there is a torque setting. Probably about 20ftlbs

The torque setting is very low so most wrenches aren't capable, IIRC i ended up using a 1/4" drive torque wrench!

Tip of the day is to use two cable ties to pull the coil-packs!  :happy2:

Yeah I saw that on a thread somewhere, legendary way of removing them.

So basically just give them a good tighten, (assume that is what nip means)
