Vacuum tap for boost gauge??
« on: November 01, 2011, 09:49:49 pm »

Had a search but I'm not getting the answers I'm after!

Recently bought a newsouth boost gauge in an oem air vent pod and looking to fit it but don't know where to plumb in my ECS t-piece (no buzzing) for my vac line?

Also where am I best powering it from to come on with my lights?

Any help lads is appreciated!! :happy2:

If it helps car is a 07 ed30 with auto lights

Cheers those Damien!

I understand the wiring now but still Not clear where I need to take my vacuum feed from in the engine bay?

Might have just been a long day but just can't see it

Either from the vac line onto the DV or from the main vac line going into the inlet mani (you can get a boost tap kit from the likes of Forge Motorsport)

Not attempted it yet, had the engine cover off yest looking for the vac pipe ( which I found) and then just having a look around to see where best to pass through the bulkhead.

But seems easy enough now, thanks for the pics!

I've got a ecs t-piece for the vacuum take off but have been offered a forge adaptor which goes on the main inlet vac take off and not sure which one to use?

I can attest that the Forge adapter is simple to fit and works well.
Without traction power is nothing!

Yeah it looks to be an easy fit and a tidy install aswell! I have no use for the other blanks on it but boost. I'm tempted for it but I then have a ecs t-piece that's obsolete, oh well.
