Mm, looks ok, local salesman grabbed me today while I was at the stealers picking up some parts, asked me if i wanted to be put on his list for test drive when it arrives, said I would take a look at my leasuire and see what i thought, no intention of buying one but would be interesting comparison to make against the Ed30

Looks very nice in white!

One of my mates is a sales manager for VW and said he is looking forward to getting these in as they should be great to drive!

I wonder if you can buy the gear knob on its own...

Really starting to grow on me now. Like Mike says, I would have one if someone gave me one. But if I was an Ed30 owner I certainly wouldn't be tempted to weigh out 15-20k to change..
Would love to see a Red/White/Grey one with the wheels in black.   Any photoshoppers with some time one their hands about?

It's a real shame VW won't let the dealers run these as Demo's. :-(

Why - seems strange given that they are not a limited edition?

Because its classed as a niche model, we can't have one as a demo, maybe after its been out for a while they might, customer orders only at the minute I'm afraid. :-(

Well my Ed30 was in at VW today for service and while there I spotted the Edition 35 outside (White, DSG), yeah not bad i thought, then mr sales slides over and says "Like it", mmm not bad but think my Ed30 is better looking, cut a long story short i went for a spin in it and it was ok, but no special feeling in it (Or as James May would say "no fizz in my thingy"). Certainly wont be entertaining one of those at 29K, my next car will be the Golf R in around 4 years (when prices are sensible!)  :happy2:

I dont mind lugging round the extra 200kg as 4wd will help put stage 2+ power down, rather than spinning front wheels massively on all but the 5 perfect days a year we get in the uk.  :driver:, plus it hellps when im back up north where if it aint raining its probably snowing

Also noticed in sales blurb it CLEARLY states its not a limited edition and no numbered plaques and no cap on total amount for sale, seems they dont want the Ed30 Fiasco all over again
