Any mod removal before dealer service?
« on: November 03, 2011, 03:36:21 pm »
Cars going in for a service tomorrow afternoon and since my mods have increased i was wondering does anyone remove/disable any particular mods before taking the car in, to avoid the dealer ruining anything  :scared:

Would it matter to the dealer for example that i have a Polar FIS installed?
Or that i have a modded engine cover to allow room for the ITG, the engine cover is held by the two rubber mounting points at the front and a cable tie at the back to make it nice and secure.
Cars running revo stage one and revo dsg stage one, though its having the dsg service also, does anyone know of any ecu updates that may wipe these?
Cars a 2007 edition 30.

Am i worrying about nothing, should i just have more faith  :rolleye:

Personally I would remove the engine cover if it is not obvious how it is held on, then TELL them that the ECU's for the engine and gearbox are not to be flashed under ANY circumstances because they have both been re-mapped. (a large note taped to the dashboard by the clocks stating this would no hurt either)

ATEOTD the warranty has already expired so you have nothing to loose in telling them
If you are also particular about how you wash the car then include on the note that the car MUST NOT be washed under any circumstances is a good idea (also tell them this when you drop the car off.
