3D rear badge on a 05 GTI. Anyone have any pics?

I'm going to replace the original rear badge and boot mechanism on my 05 plate, as it's starting to get whiteworm, with the newer 3D type. I've read a few threads where folks have said the 3D badge sticks out a few mm when fitted to earlier Mk5's. Just wondered exactly how much it sticks out. Does it look out of place? If anyone has any pics that would be great.

If you mean the MK6 badge it does stick out a bit but not enough to really notice.

The later mk5 badges, about 06 onwards were of a raised design where the VW part is actually able to unclip from the main black part of the boot handle mechanism. It was the first thing I changed on my car as the old one suffered from white worm. It is raised in design but looks far better than the flat version, change to it  

Ps, AFAIK the tailgates themselves are exactly the same on all all mk5s

Yeah the badge I have is the newer Mk5 badge that I bought from the breakers who are breaking that red ED30. Maxitrol, just had a look at your thread, I see what you mean about it sticking out. Guess I'll just have to fit it and see how it looks. If it looks too out of place I might have to get the original early flat badge painted - the whiteworn has started in on it now. I do like the look of the 3D badges better though and if the tailgates are the same on all Mk5's then hopefully it should fit OK.
