for the turn signals has sidelights no you don't need a 30byte controller I had it on my old controller before I went to the 30bytes version.

i had it activated with my 21 byte controller and now with my 30byte too!

If you have to have either side lights or dipped beam on for this to work, doesn't it kind of defeat the object of them being DRL's?  Or have I misunderstood?

Seems to be very simple. If your any good with coding just follow the instructions given above. They seem spot on, the guy I went to at 1st didn't really have a clue how to do it but darren had it up and running in 60 seconds. And yes it works with standard halogen lights. Looks awesome at night :D
