New member - new mk5 owner
« on: November 06, 2011, 07:35:20 pm »
Hey guys - new to here but a long in the tooth VW guy, been at this for nearly 20 years!

I just bought a mk5 gti off Ali from London, hes posted his pics on here before - Shadow blue 3 door manual.

First thing - he is a great young man and only selling due to circumstances out his control - I can tell he was gutted to see it go and a genuine VW enthusiast. :happy2:

It is the 1st mk5 I have driven and I am well and truly smitten. I have come from a 280hp mk2 Golf which was ballistic but tricky. The mk5 is just so capable, even with 260hp it runs.

Pics to follow soon,

Will be on here a bit now

Hi guys

I think he went by HAli or AliH on here.

I am madly trying to resist modding it but it is in my nature!

Here is my mk2

@ Jon - yeah this was sold to fund the mk5. I wasnt sure whether I wanted to - I spent over a year and about 10 grand building the mk2....but I have no regrets now.

Mike yeah you may have bagged the wishbones if I had :drinking: :P :happy2:
