Welcome to the forum. Just so you know you won't have any money left after looking at some of the goings on on here. I've only been registered 3 days and and seen loads of thing I could quite easily spend a small fortune on

Guys thanks for the friendly welcome. I know what you all mean bout spending loads on modding lol. If i get an edition 30 will stay standard, if i pick up a GTI may do some mods.

So question, how much is the road tax now adays on the following?
ED30 08-onwards
GTI 05-LATE 06, I think its £245 a year.
GTI 07- onwards.

would be good for those selling cars to add info like that.

Aslo are people being hit lots by declaring mods with insurers.?

Welcome  :happy2:

ED30 Tax is same as GTI £245, manual i think is 193 Co2 and DSG 188 Co2, same J bracket!

Re insurance, my own ins costs below.

£467 for STD ED30 (Currently)
£616 for Stage 1 (Exhaust and  re-map) in new year 300bhp.
£689 for Stage 2+  (Exhaust, HPFP, Twintake Filter and Re-map to around 340bhp. (next year sometime)

Those were my quotes, i got agreed with my current insurer (Next year will be likely going with greenlight after I spoke to them as they wil be a little cheaper on the mods i think by around £40.

Good luck with keeping your Ed30 std, almost everyone on here will be egging you onto stg 1 at least
