How to: repair 3 door sliding seat problem
w80ody:
Cheers for the thanks folks :happy2:
Thought I’d take the time to write the guide as I’m sure there’s loads of golfs out there with the same problem.
Took me 3 years of friends complaining about getting in the back for me to get round to doing this but well worth it. If you have the same issue you’ve no excuse for not doing it when it’s as simple and cheap as this!
Its good to see that VW realised the flaw and beefed up the new design.

I've been wondering wy the passenger seat worked but the drivers side didnt. I thought it was the wee metal slidey thing that can move. Right, off to VW tomorrow! Bet they dont charge me 55p!!

Used this guide to repair both of my seats they now slide like new and was a very cheap repair job :D

Im going STRAIGHT to my dealer on friday and fitting itsaturday first thing and sorting my seat. People like you make this forum invaluable. I will do both seats. It's a no brainer the clip has been beefed up big time. Good to see VW have acknowledged it and sorted it. Its so annoying not being able to slide the passenger. Once sorted my seat. I'll be sending thanks your way. Top man! :happy2:
