Bluetooth fitting help
« on: November 10, 2011, 12:01:02 pm »
Hi all

I have a 2006 golf gti and a 2007 golf 1.9tdi sport which I want to add Bluetooth to.

The gti currently has a parrot kit which I want to remove. Has rns510 version b fitted, full red dot fis.

The diesel has mfd2 retro fitted with half red dot display. I just need Bluetooth to answer calls in this

Now what units do I need, and can I make a custom loom to save some cost?

Both need to support iPhone 4

Thanks in advance

I bought mine off egay. The problem you will have is that either you can use the red dot display and buttons on steering wheel OR you can use the RNS510. If the former, I think it's the B-unit you need. If the latter, the latest is I think F or G which will be fine.

SteveP is able to fit bluetooth kits.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I have no steering wheel controls. Just remembered I have original vw cradle if that makes any difference

Hi

For the sport which you only want to be able to answer calls, the best and cheapest way would probably be to just transfer the parrot kit in your GTI over to your diesel...everything should just be plug and play..depending on how its been routed/mounted should be fairly straightforward, just take your time.

for the GTI, your options are either original VW bluetooth...which is quite expensive...or...FISCON bluetooth...i've got the fiscon basic fitted to mine (didnt want it showing up on the RNS) and its fantastic, you can use the steering controls etc and everything pops up on the full red dot FIS, also allows you to use A2DP so you can stream audio from your iphone through to your RNS, also a complete piece of piss to fit! loom sits inbetween the original wiring and the RNS, you route your mic and thats it after a bit of vagcom coding to enable the telephone although i didnt even have to do this for some strange reason...

good luck!
