Armster Armrests
« on: November 19, 2011, 11:28:51 am »
Hi all

As some of you know I am still looking for my dream GTI   and am still in the process of locating one.

Problem seems to be that a lot of the cars on the market do not have the OEM armrest - and that bothers me a bit.

Over on eBay I see there is a "Armster" armrest - has anyone on the forum fitted one to their Mk5?  Any good?  Does it block access to anything when its in the down position?  At 90 GBP it seems a snip compared to 200 GBP for the OEM item....

Here is an example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Volkswagen-GOLF-MK5-JETTA-Armster-Armrest-/110415342177?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19b5446a61#ht_1975wt_1081

Thanks in advance!

Ash

It's £90 for a reason < just a basic armrest, will do the job!

£200 is way off the mark for an OEM one. Shop about, be patient and you will get one for £120-150. Will the OEM one you can attached things like cd player, ipod docs etc.

In my opionion you are far better to wait/be patient save the extra few pound and get an OEM one.

Thanks - that's a good point... I'll definitely bear that in mind and keep my eyes peeled for an OEM one.

Does part 1K0864207E correspond to the genuine (OEM) article?  Are any other bits needed?

Cheers!

Going to call this thread to a close as I seem to have located the last 5 door Mk5 Golf in the FREE world which actually has a centre armrest already!!!   :signLOL:

Fingers crossed I pickup the car on Thursday  :driver:
