Shuddering when accelerating. ANY ideas??
« on: November 13, 2011, 08:50:06 pm »
Guys,

Recently had my Cupra remapped and the power increase was amazing, however since last sunday I have had occassional shuttering through the acceleration pedel as im accelerating hard.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Im thining that I;ve either got a coil pack issue or plugs as its if there is delay like major turbo lag,

I appreciate that this is a GTI forum but im trying to piece others ppls experiences and rule them out!

Cheers

Jim

Find someone with a vcds cable and get your car scanned for fault codes in the first instance.
Without traction power is nothing!

As above best / 1st port of call before you start shelling out

There's a vcds register listing people around the country who maybe able to help you out

Very common mate.  Coil packs were revised (new ones endin F I think)
I had a massive drama trying to cure a miss fire on cyl 3 which was fixed by a new injector

Could possibly be the intake manifold flap motor (tumble flap) although agree with mike coils, sparks and VCDS first port of call. Had/have stuttering on mine (non tuned) gti and that was after new coil packs and sparks and new rev D diverter valve.
VCDS cable HEX-USB+CAN. New but can do the basics including coding
