Autoglym Interior Shampoo - Application?
« on: November 11, 2011, 09:23:18 am »
Chaps after reading a few threads and getting a few recommendations I've just bought this to do my seats an carpets -

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180692097584?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Now I plan to fully hoover the interior, including seats, remove mats and use this.

What's the best way to apply and use this?

1) Vac all interior cloth
2) Spray Shampoo
3) Leave 5 Minutes
4) Rub with damp cloth
5) Leave 5 Minutes
5) Rub With Dry Cloth

Is that it? Or to much waiting time etc? Watched a few videos on youtube of it going like white soap etc? Will this damage the seats?

Thanks chaps!

I've used it a few times. What I tend to do after vacuuming is spray just a section of a seat eg the base. Then use an interior brush to work the foam in. Then wipe with a damp MF that I then rinse in a bucket of water. Repeat this for the sections.

Never bothered cloth-drying them. Windows open and go for a drive. Works better in the summer though!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Or buy a cheap mains-powered fan heater for about £20 from your local DIY place. Stick it in the car, open the windows a touch, and run it. Used to do this after I scrubbed the alcantara seats in the STi for a quick dry :happy2:

I hoovered car, Sprayed cleaner onto seats, wiped over with a damp mf cloth and then hoovered again with my wet vac :happy2: If I didnt have a wet vac i'd probably give it a wipe with a dry cloth then leave to dry.
