Neuspeed hi flo turbo discharge pipe

As title, I am thinking about this mod. Is it a prooven mod, or just a nice have?

Any pointers... :)

They good part of that kit is the turbo outlet, as the discharge pipe is the original shortned and with another silicone hose to get a slightly bigger diameter just outside the turbo. Keep the turbo outlet and get another bigger discharge pipe custom made  :happy2:

Over the top mod list ;o)

The pipe itself needs to be bigger along with the silicone hose  :happy2:

I thought the benefit of the neuspeed was larger diameter?  :ashamed: :sad1:

It is!
I suspect he's alluding to the fact that he has a BN Autoteknik Turbo outlet one.

The Neuspeed one is the original discharge that's cut short at the top, and replaced with a larger diameter silicone hose.
I unfortunately doesn't have the BN Autoteknik discharge pipe but i do have their turbo outlet which has the bigger diameter than the neuspeed one. As i was very low i had trouble with the driveshaft making a hole in the silicone hose between outlet and discharge pipe. It never got solved and the guy doing the work has moved on to other types of work sadly  :sad1:
It worked well though, giving app. 15nm more torque.

Over the top mod list ;o)

The first version, which is still available, was simply a cut off oem pipe along with the hose and larger diameter turbo outlet.

But there is a second version utilizing a round pipe, and the rest is the same as with the first version;http://www.redline-motorworks.com/Neuspeed_Hi_Flo_Turbo_Discharge_Conversion_Mk5_GTI_p/48.02.65.htm

This mod by itself, or with minor K03 mods, will leave you noticing no substantial power gain.

For myself I've classified mods into two categories. Power mods and enhancement mods.
1) Power mods, such as ecu remaps, fueling, and bigger turbos etc., are mods that will increase the size of the smile on your face. You know for sure that there is more power under the bonnet.
2) Enhancement mods, like turbo discharge and downpipe etc., are mods that will allow the power mods to give all that they can. These all together will free up a bit of horsepower when added to cars that have big power mods on them, but very difficult to feel the difference on cars that do not have very many power mods on them.
