Manifold Intake Flapper Motor?
« on: November 15, 2011, 09:55:22 pm »
Hi Guys,

I'm wondering if someone out there can help me with this issue?

I have a mk5 GTi (2006) which has recently been remapped to stage 1. At first the car was buzzing, very quick off the mark indeed and a few days later not so quick

Even before the remap I was getting the following DTC's which I kinda ignored as I thought it's maybe some carbon build-up or something.

Have you guys seen this error before? Is it definitely related to the intake flapper motor?

The symptoms that the car is showing is that it is not so good on fuel. I always use high RON fuel and am currently getting about 250 miles out of a full  tank. I must admit I only do short distance journeys.

I have recently changed the DV, PCV on the car to the BSH Revamp and this did not improve the fuel economy, it's about the same. More recently, I changed the spark plugs on it to Denso IK24's, still no difference.

Yup, do the basic settings, clear the fault  and hope it doesn't re-appear.
Without traction power is nothing!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I have already tried this about a month ago and what happened this time round was that the CEL came on reporting the same issue!

Yes it does that. Do the Basic Settings and clear the fault if it keeps coming back then you probably need to replace the motor.
