I did the rear in a couple of hours. You just need to be brave taking the rear trim off.

Are you just wanting to take the rear chrome part of the badge off or all the latch mechanism?

If you just want the chrome VW badge off then you just tilt the latch up and slide a thin piece of plastic into the join between the latch and the chrome badge, GENTLY move the plastic (could use a credit card) from side to side and eventually the badge will come off.  :happy2:

It shouldn't break as a few of us have had to take them off when we had the CF ones and I'm not aware of any problems?

is it held on the same as the front one ? with the silver bits tight fitting in to smaller holes ?

Yes, that and small ridges around the inside which clip it onto the plastic moulding.

We all bought them in a group buy from the TT Shop, but you still have to send in your original chrome one as they use it as a base. If you don't send in the badge they buy a whole new latch unit and use the badge off that. My front and rear cost about £180 in total including the cost of the badges and a full new rear latch.

I still have bothe the old badges and latch if I want to return to stock.
