have you installled these are they easy to fit?

What is the best HID kit someone would reccomend? currently have standard headlamps, want something which will connect straight and easy to install,

If you are still keen to go down the HID route, these are the ones I would fit!

OE is 4300k, but I would go for 5000k for the whitest light.  :happy2:

Best colour for light output, and least likely to get you noticed by the fuzz would be 5000k which are pure white in reflector headlamps. I have also passed 2 mot's with a kit installed in my last car and have benefited from the increased amount of light on the road. My last car being an H7 fitment required an H7R bulb which is designed for a reflector housing and offers correct beam pattern. I would seriously recommend hids4u.co.uk with discount code STRATHY   :happy2:

HID's will be coming into MOT Tests Jan 2012.

If you have HID's Fitted without wash function & self levelling, it will be a fail.

Nope, that's not quite right. . . . . I found this quote from another thread which was taken from the official MOT checklist for Jan 2012:

Quote from:
Vehicles equipped with High Intensity Discharge (HID) or LED dipped beam headlamps may be fitted with headlamp washers and a suspension or headlamp self levelling system.
Where such systems are fitted, they must work; however, it is accepted that it may not be possible to readily determine the functioning of self levelling systems. In such cases, the benefit of the doubt must be given.
Headlamp washers may work in conjunction with the windscreen washers (when the dipped beam headlamps are switched on) or by a separate switch.

So basically, IF you have the washers fitted, they must work. Doesn't say anything about these being mandatory :congrats:

I can confirm this, although in a Department of Transport fact sheet dated back to 2006 it states that aftermarket HID kits were illegal, this was not actually law!  As of January next year these kits would be an MOT failure, but as stated above the rules have been relaxed somewhat.  My vRS has just sailed threw an MOT with them fitted and no washers or levellers, the tester said unless there is another change, they will be fine next year as well.

5000K FTW by the way..........
