Hello From Bristol!
« on: November 17, 2011, 10:03:51 am »
Hi there, been on here a couple of months now but not done an intro! Bought my 05 DSG GTI back in august after having the worst car i have ever owned! it was an 8l Audi S3, Before that i had a 306 GTI6,
This was the s3 and the gti 6,

And the golf, unfortunately i dont have any decent pictures yet!

Will get some better ones when i get the car back as it is in with vw getting rust repaired under warranty, my plans are to get an itg induction kit, lower it but i dont know how much? Cant afford coilies so i was just going to get h&r 30mm springs? Would love a set of kw v2's like i had on the gti6 but cant afford them! Also a revo stage 1 map and possibly 19" monzas.
I work for robins & day peugeot so if any of you have peugeots drop me an email on luke.jenkins@peugeot.com and i can sort out parts at discounted rates!
Luke

Lovely S3.  What were your opinions on the Gti-6?

Welcome aboard  :happy2:

Not far from me then, i live in henbury,
The S3 was a dog, was a previous write off and was sold to me with a lot of problems that i wasn't made aware of, hub was bent, wheel bearing gone, intercooler pipes were a mess and i had dodgy spacers which made the old wheels on it wobble, clutch slave cylinder went as i expect most of you know its box out.
The GTi6 was awesome, i loved it but i had a few problems throughout ownership so i p/x'd it for the s3, i had a viper induction kit, magnex exhaust with decat so not much performance gains but i felt it was a bit too dated on the interior and fancied something different, so i got lumbered with the s3! I took £1500 trade in against the golf for the s3,
Does £8650 seem reasonable for a gti with dsg on 66k?

Welcome Luke, i'm new here too. Picked my Ed30 up yesterday, loving it so far. I read about your saga with the S3 on the gti-6 forum, some bad luck there mate. Hope the golf is better to you than that  :happy2:

A friend of mine had a dsg and after a few months got board and swapped for a manual, think it's a love it or hate it type thing.
