Car in for a service next week
« on: November 17, 2011, 04:42:46 pm »
Car is in for a service next week at TL Darby VW in Burton on Trent. Mines a GT Sport 170. Its only in for a minor service but saw this post http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,37735.0.html of PND's and wondered if there is anything I should be asking them to do? Like a certain type of oil to use etc? This will be my first encounter with main dealer servicing as a whole and vary wary of anyone who works on my car. Bad experiences with my mk4 at a so called "specialist".

I am able to do it myself but from reading the rusty wings thread, it seems best to have VWSH if I want to claim in the future.

So what are your prerequisites when leaving your car at the dealer?

Main dealers are 'usually' fine but some are better than others. I've not any experience with Vag dealers yet , but i snapped a rear half shaft on a previous motor and the dealer overlooked all the (heavy) mods and carried out the repair even though the car was 3 months out of warranty.

You should be fine, i suppose ask anyone on here if they have any experience with the specific dealer your going to.
