re-map
« on: November 17, 2011, 07:30:09 pm »

Just had my 57plate GTI remapped by Mark at http://www.southwestincartech.co.uk/.
He was friendly, helpful and very well priced. They don't offer Stages as he believes in re-mapping the car to the spec that you are running at a set price to each vehicle.
He first did a rolling road to  collect the date from the car and a print out to show pre-mapped  figures.
Then he went in the back room(where the magic happens) and designed a map to suit my car, with a twin take forge turbo hoses, forge dv.
Next the new map was uploaded to the car and another rolling road session, not totally happy with the first results (256.2bhp , 293.1lbf.ft) he went into the back room again and came back out for another go and glad he did, then after 3more runs to make sure it wasn't a fluke we arrived at 265.8 bhp and 305.7lbf.ft. the car drives excellent and returns better MPG than before.
:driver:

All in all a good day out only took 2hours(plus the shopping in Bristol after-wards keep the misses happy :signLOL:)

Defiantly worth a visit and may be a good place for a rolling road day meet in the new year as its just as you get off the motorway(m4)

It might well be a good place for a RR day, not sure how many people live around here though. Do you have a printout to show us? 265 does seem a little high IMO. Main thing of course is how it drives  :driver:

yeah i will try upload one when i get time. Mark owns a edition30 his self so the map is a mix of his aswell. I will ask about prices for a RR Day then see whos intrested. He goes to the vag meets at longwell green so always around to ask any issuses. It drives lovely you can potter around then when you want it bang the power comes in. I do need a pcv valve tho and you can see this on the graph.

A long time ago a fledgling forum went to Brackley.

Interesting, amusing and enjoyable day.

Ha i see, surely it's down to how the car drives to your driving and if the drivers happy what does a print out matter?? Never mind hey.

I notice they are a Celtic tuning dealer. Was it actually a custom map or a Celtic tuning map?
