I really don't know why people always mention rubbing???

My H&R's have settled now and lowered the car about 40mm. I have 19" alloys and even with the car full I've never had any rubbing !!!

Also I'm sure the H&R springs are advertised with different info on different websites. Some say they lower 35mm some say 50mm.
I think you will find they all lower the same though as they are the same springs. H&R state the car will be lowered between 35-50mm.
Don't go thinking that if u order springs from one place that say 35mm drop that you are getting different springs to the places saying 50mm!

Got my Paradas fitted today, cant believe the difference they have made to the whole car compared to worn continentals!

Phone pic, apologies.

My Maxogen also arrived today, I cant wait to get it all fitted. Hopefully will be on with another update on Saturday!

Thanks, Stu.

Sorry again for the phone pics, got another slight update. Got my maxogen kit fitted, absolutely love it  :happy2:

Cant believe how much more responsive it makes the car feel!

Excuse the lack of a clean engine bay....

A quick pic just before I cleaned it today, I think the springs have settled now and it looks a bit lower

The latest update on the car is that me stage 1 attempt is now complete.

Since my budget remap  the car has never ran how I wanted it to and has never made any more power than standard. Eventually, after changing every turbo related valve on the car, its beggining to feel a bit better! The car spent a couple of days at sitech racing last week to be checked over one last time for stage 1 and to be put on the rollers to find out whats happening power wise.

I couldnt talk higher of the service that I got from Simon at sitech, heres his demo car, just short of 530bhp

And the golf on arrival, with my better halfs corsa that followed me there and back!

And the results...

I got told by sitech that the 231bhp that my car made was as good as my map would allow and for what it is, the engine is doing everything its told to do. Does this curve look ok? Its now stage 2 revo next after a turbo back exhuast  :happy2:

Cheers, Stu.

tbh thats not the best power/torque curve ive seen by a long shot. Plus the figures are pretty low considering the Dastek rollers normally give inflated figures.  The torque on a stage 1 should be easily around 260lbft and nice and smooth, yours has a big torque spike that only just manages to peak at 224lbft which is really low.

Might be worth checking your diverter valve to see if it has a small tear thats releasing boost(thus power/torque)

They really arent to smooth, the car was checked and this curve has been put down to a dodgy map.

The strange thing is my dv has been changed to a piston type already and the car on a boost gauge makes 16psi with no signs of leakage or spiking ?

Does this sound right?

Might be worth looking into a swap tbh.  Go for one of the VAG specialists IMO.  Plenty of them sponsor this forum.  You dont have to spend a wedge either, as plenty of them make commendable remaps at half the price of the top tuners

Thanks mate,

I was taking the car to specialists around glasgow and they were at first producing a p0299 fault code - boost pressure not reached. Since i changed the MAFM this code has disappreared and it has not showed up again on vagcom on the rollers at sitech or when he was driving it.

The car still feels flat to drive at the bottom end and Sitech advised that a good map, i.e revo would sort this and release a lot more power.

Hopefully that will be my next step in the near future.

Are there any other common areas for a boost leak other than the dv? Incase one has went un-noticed?

Thanks, Stu.
