map wise

PTprque
APR
REVO
Jabbasport
PDT
RTec

etc are all very well renowned maps on here all producing neigh on identical figures at vastly differing prices.

The only two there who differ are APR and REVO whos maps are switchable whereas the others are fixed

Slight performance update  :signLOL:

Had the golf up at the REVO vag vs ford day yesterday at crail. Still unchanged with the suspect 230hp map and in honesty the car struggled. All day I was having an absolute nightmare getting the car off the line, I eventually managed to get down to a 15.2 at 95.9mph. This was with a 1200rpm launch, it was the only one I tried like that, maybe another go would have seen a 14?

I dont know if any others were struggling as much on the line?

Anyway some pre crail and track pics taken by a mate  :happy2:

Cheers, Stu.

Iv just added another touch under the bonnet before my next remap ( hopefully next weekend if I get the time off ). Quite liked the sound of this mod, I wasnt having to much problems with my PCV but was advised that with a correct map a BSH one is an improvement.

Here are the pics...

It was easy to fit, I reckon there was an hour in it at the very most.

The only noticable difference is the car idles smoother, I think with a new map though it will hopefully help things along a bit.

Eventually.... I have the best update since I have owned this car

If you have noticed any of the updates I've been putting on various different parts of this build thread and throughout the forum, you will notice my ongoing problem I've been having  with the car lacking the power that I felt it should have had.

Yesterday, my Dad gave up his first day off work to pay  a visit to falkland performance in Glenrothes, to once again see if a different garage and set of opinions could get to the bottom of this.  After plugging the car into Vagcom it became apparent that between 1900rpm and 2900rpm the car was falling way below the boost etc that the ECU required to operate, and this had a knock on effect throughout the rev range. After checking every sensor and having a look over mechanics my map which I thought was causing the problem was removed. The problem still existed.

The exhaust was then removed to have the cat etc examined and the turbo checked over and yet again everything was still in correct working order. After some head scratching it was suggested between my dad and the garage that the timing could be an issue, even though my belt had been changed by a vw "specialist" before I got the car.

As of this morning falkland had got into my timing to find that the belt had been fitted two teeth off from normal!!! This is the first apparent problem since I started spending £££s on sensors over 8months ago. This was fixed and revo software was uploaded  I honestly cannot describe the difference this has made to the car, the overall drivability and the performance is unbelievable  I can't wait to get to a track now!

Would like to say a big thanks to falkland performance, the service was excellent and the courtesy car helped a lot  :happy2:

Sorry for the amount of words, I will have a pic update ASAP

Thanks  :happy2: stu.
