BMW 320D - Back to black
« on: April 11, 2009, 04:53:35 pm »
Hello guys

What can I say.... Im shattered.  :rolleye:
It was 26 degrees here today, It was hot, humid and my rotary bombed out before I could even use it.:argue:

So its been a rough day... Feeling dizzy, nauseas and exhausted  :ashamed:

So here we go. Today was a 320D in black. And it needed some love.

Some before pics:

An then the hatred of my life... Typical BMW Wheels... Check the tar deposits.... Poor clay bar....

This ladies and gents was a quarter of the front panel....

Disgusting!

The car was:

- Washed and clayed
- Given 4 coats of Chemical Guys Pro polish
- Rewashed
- Given two coats of Collonite
- Then given a coat of Opti Seal sealant and glaze.
- Rims were waxed with Bilt Hamber
- Interior was cleaned and leather treated with Chemical Guys Leather Treatment. The leather looks awesome now!
- Engine Bay was cleaned.
- Tyres and trim treated with Chemical guys 0 New car dressing (Something like that)

The owner seemed quite happy.... My arms are ultra sore considering it was all done by hand

Here are the afters:

What you guys think? I think its ok seeing I only had 10 hours to work on the car...

All comments are welcome! :)

A pretty ace turnaround considering it was all done my hand.

Should be long-lasting as well.

Very nice mate!

I'm hoping my car comes out at least half of that quality.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Thanks guys!

If you are going to give the car a "hand job" instead of rotary I suggest you apply the polish with a microfibre applicator. I found it had considerably more cut than the foam applicators.

Also... this is a great example as to why you should treat your rims to some wax.

Lets just say that BMW's are not quite what they used to be..............

The only thing I liked about this was the interior which was very solid... The rest was not up to what I perceive as BMW standards.... No surprise people are buying the Hondas these days...

The owner has had a few issues with BMW about the car. The rims are one issue and as I showed him... The left right panel and from bumper unit are not glossy... They didnt spray it properly... And then of course theres a bit of orange peel in the paint too...

Utter rubbish...

Thanks though!
